A new grooming lounge for the Man on the move.

The Stage and Screen team was treated last week to a very unique event at the Hines and Harley Men’s Grooming Lounge in leafy Northern Johannesburg. This exclusive and trendy destination attracts the metro man on the lookout for something a little different, and a little more intimate.

Situated in an old heritage house on Parktown’s bustling 7th avenue, Hines and Harley offers services for the man on the move in search for that perfect pampering escape. For the guy with an unruly beard, or the groomed enthusiast who likes to keep his stubble to a minimum, there are package deals available including single treatments alike, not forgetting a range of South African and international products suited for all skin-, beard- and hair types!

With a trendy vibe and suitable amounts of manly influence, Hines and Harley gives you that home away from home feeling. Hines and Harley is a place for guys who are not too keen on the commonly known beauty salon, or the average hustled ‘mall’ experience, but who prefer something a little more intimate and a little less commercial.

After being warmly welcomed by the H&H team and owner Jared Hines, donning a very dapper 1912 handlebar moustache himself, we sat, conversed and undoubtedly, we relaxed!  Guests can sip on whiskey, brandy, or even savour their famous cold drip coffee. What better way to while away the afternoon or early evening than, to experience the Hines and Harley approach to male grooming.

In the world of manscaping, guys tend to look for that quick and convenient approach to their grooming upkeep. Who says men can’t jump on the bandwagon and get to experience some barbering and grooming like their female counterparts? The Hines and Harley philosophy stands true in their approach to customer service. “For us it is all about the experience before, during and after the treatment. We view our treatments as therapy given by professionals”, says Jared Hines whose dream it was to establish a place where men can be pampered, not as an afterthought but as the salon’s focus.

Hines and Harley serves as an eclectic stopover, a place where you can unwind and take a well-deserved breather from the day’s festivities. Full of old world charm with an understated sophistication, Hines has simply, yet effectively divided the space into 3 sections.

The centre room with Persian rugs and antique furnishing creates the welcoming spot, an oasis to re-connect, read a book, play a game of chess and unwind.

Manicure and Pedicure stations divided by unobtrusive wooden partitions offer tired feet and overworked hands a revived boost, while the exciting blade and scissor action takes place across the room. Private treatment areas offer guests facials, waxing and even Afri- Thai Fusion Massages, perfect for body and mind.

The team at Hines and Harley, shares and lives Hines’ vision. Amon Mhlanga and Terry Morris show appetite for this establishment through their actions, their passion for what they do, and the care they put into each gentleman they pamper.

Hines and Harley offers a variety of treatments, might it be for individuals, or a group of gents in need of some time away. Offers for bachelor’s parties, or even just a dad-and-son bonding moment, can be tailored and catered for. All you need to know, is on their website: http://www.hinesandharley.co.za/

From hot towel shaves and cool beard shapes to head massages and haircuts, you’ll find your perfect match at Hines and Harley grooming Lounge for Men.  Hines and Harley provides every man the opportunity to look after the most important person in that man’s life; Himself.

Hines and Harley is located at number 25 7th Avenue, Parktown North 2195
